Baby Botox: Preventative Facial Aesthetics

Baby Botox

Within the ever-evolving landscape of facial aesthetic treatments the emergence of baby Botox, an innovative preventative approach to Botox, has sparked a lot of conversation over recent years, leaving us with a few questions (and a little fear!).

So, let’s explore baby Botox…

What is Baby Botox?

Baby Botox, sometimes referred to as ‘soft Botox’ or ‘micro Botox’, is the injection of smaller units of Botox into the face compared to the traditional approach, to achieve a more natural result. Although they use the same botulinum formula, the key distinctions in these anti-wrinkle treatments lie in the amount applied, who it’s suitable for and the maintenance.

The Right Candidate

Despite the terrifying name, the right candidate for baby Botox is often considered to be in their 20s to 30s, seeking preventive facial aesthetic measures. However, the treatment can also be suitable for those who are slightly older and new to Botox, without any noticeable fine lines or wrinkles. Whilst it’s not considered harmful, those who have previously had Botox or have more prominent signs of ageing might not achieve their desired results with baby Botox, given the subtler impact of the lower units used.

It’s not uncommon (and completely fine) for those who have baby Botox to eventually move onto traditional Botox treatment, but always consult with a trained clinical practitioner first.

Maintenance

Given that baby Botox is administered in smaller amounts, as you might anticipate, it won’t last as long as regular Botox. Typically, the effects of baby Botox last for about three months before you need a top-up, while Botox tends to last around four to six months, with the potential for longer in some cases.

Choosing the Right Practitioner

Like with all cosmetic facial treatments, the art is in the administration. Our clinically trained and qualified practitioners here at the Family Dental Clinic will perform an extensive assessment of your medical and face to determine if the treatment is right for you. We’ll then select the required dosage, strategically placing the Botox injections in the areas of concern. This is often around the eyes, forehead and lips.

Our commitment to professionalism and customer care at our family dental practice means that we put your safety and comfort first. We take a holistic perspective, ensuring that you are well-informed and supported throughout your entire aesthetic journey with us.

There will always be a buzz around new and exciting facial aesthetic treatments, but before undergoing any cosmetic procedure, it’s crucial to consult with a qualified medical professional. Ask questions and discuss your medical history to make an informed decision based on your individual needs and circumstances.
